My name is Katalin Törley, and I am a teacher. I taught French language, literature, and civilization for 23 years at the bilingual department of Kölcsey High School. In October 2022, I was fired from my position due to my participation in the civil disobedience movement.
In 2016, I co-founded the Teaching Movement alongside Olivér Pilz, which has since grown into the most influential civil organization of the past decade.
As a Member of the European Parliament, I will continue to primarily advocate for the Hungarian public education system, representing the interests of Hungarian children, parents, prospective parents, educational workers, and teachers. The education system is intertwined with various other areas and issues, so these will also be important topics for me (children's rights, human rights, labor rights, public service, the situation of the Roma, segregation).
